Beauregard is always dirty...Just look at that face

He's a Full Accoyo but looks like something the cat just dragged in. He loves the mud and any sand he can get into and will jump on anything that moves in the pasture. I have no idea what to do with him at this point except put him in the bathtub. His gorgeous mother Dixie Belle just keeps the milk flowing to him...guess she's got her toes crossed on this one.

Let's call her Couscous...named before she was totally born by Ava & Don. We laughed, she was healthy and happy with her new life!

Did you know that Augusto's offspring make champions. Yep, they usually skip a generation and then you'll see all the fleece awards abounding. Couscous is cute...nothing more to say at this time...she's still growing. She's full Accoyo and I know she's young yet but I'm planning on breeding her to Justinian in about 2010.

Talk about a beautiful cria . . . this one is IT!

Here's how it went . . . I've got some bad news and some good news for you . . . . First, it's another boy, BUT the good news is out of the 2 whites he's light brown in color, he is solid and healthy. Here the other news, he's not a Royal Fawn cria but our Magnum's son Warrior.

Mr. Jefferson...in Virginia that's a very special name and not taken lightly! We certainly don't!

Mr. Jefferson is a beauty. Dark Fawn shiny fiber and a head so like his sire Magnum. We are convinced he'll be a wonderful stud himself carrying very special genes on both sides. Look at that ARI certificate. Magnum, Camelot, Hemingway, Victor. Something to be added to your herd someday. He's made the showring lineup for November 2008.

This little guy has more energy than the energizer bunny. . . Gail Campbell said she would show him...

I guess you'll see me at the Suri ring with little Phoenix. If Gail says he's good, who am I to disagree. I see curls on top of his head and tail. Ringlets are on his neck and blanket and he is all one color...except for his ears that is. He is very shiny, excuse me, lustrous.

19 Pounds, Time 2:30 AM, Healthy as a horse...and almost as BIG! Another Justinian Beauty!

I thought night babies were problem babies. Not so this 19 lb. big girl born at 2:30 AM. The alarm went off, "This is Mary's Alpaca, we're having a baby" and Don rushes to the field. Out she came, no fuss, no muss, easy breezy and that's that. Pook was up within 1/2 hour and her mom passed the placenta too. They love each other and everyone is happy for Christmas.

I can't tell if she'll be show quality female yet but we've had our run of boys for 2008 and I was mighty happy to see pink girlie PJ's on this new cria. She's lovely, an easy birth, plenty of milk and there's love in the pasture between this baby and her mom.

She was 3 weeks early...arrived at 5:30 AM...No Problem!

Tiger is as bright a white as you will find. She's a bit low on her pasterns being somewhat premature but we were ready. The phone rang at 5AM..."This is Mary's Alpaca...We're having a baby" and off we ran to the barn to find her head & two feet presenting themselves...A perfect little girl and her mom loves her already.
